Description

Located below the castle, on the south side of the moraine, the 4 Wesserling gardens are characterized by very different atmospheres. All of them constitute the largest garden in Alsace registered as Historical Monuments.

 - The vegetable garden - succulent and full of flavors !

 - The formal garden told the French - geometric rigor and open spaces

 - The English garden - mysterious and romantic

 - Mediterranean terraces - exotic colors

Rehabilitation

Very respectful of the site, the rehabilitation is based on old photographs or plans of the Park of Wesserling to restore the diversity of garden art through the centuries.

The educational service offers an inviting program for school tours.

Animations

They are an opportunity to experience the concept of garden as it is developed in Wesserling : respect of the environment,  integration into the landscape, innovation.

The Festival of Hybrid Gardens

With over 40,000 visitors in 2009, the festival of Hybrid Gardens has become in 7 editions a leading "Go garden" of eastern France. This event allows to discover 11 amazing and ephemeral gardens. Artists (landscapers, designers and students...) are invited to imagine, create and implement a "living garden" by mixing flowers with fruits and vegetables. They must also meet a given theme, always linked to the history of Wesserling site. It is also an opportunity to explore the garden in all its splendor, including plots of the central walkway constructed from textile designs.
